Morgantown Mohawks
Our scholastic teams, the Morgantown Mohawks (14U Scholastic/Middle School, JV, and Varsity) play in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League (PIHL) and are one of several co-op teams in the league. The Mohawks also compete in the West Virginia Hockey League (WVHL) to determine the West Virginia State Champions. Our JV and Varsity players must attend one of our co-op high schools listed below to be eligible to play, and our Middle School players must live in a school district that is served by one of those high schools. If your child does not attend one of these high schools, or you do not live in one of these school districts (14U Scholastic/ Middle School only), and your child wishes to play, please contact us to discuss eligibility.

Registration Fees
Mohawks 14U Scholastic/ Middle School - $800 (Birthdates 1/1/2011-12/31/2013)
Mohawks Junior Varsity - $1300 (Grades 9-12)
Mohawks Varsity - $1300 (Grades 9-12)
When
Practices for our Mohawks teams will start in mid-August. Games will start in late September. The season runs through late March.
Where
Practices for Varsity and JV are held 2 times per week, usually on Friday and Sunday evenings. 14U Scholastic (Middle School) practices on Sunday evenings. Games for scholastic teams are played on weekday evenings.
Ages
Our Junior Varsity and Varsity teams are made up of players in 9th - 12th grade. All 9th graders attending MHS will be required to participate at the JV level.
Our 14U Scholastic team (formerly Middle School team) falls under the USA Hockey category of a non-checking 14U division. Second year 12U players can petition to "play up" onto the 14U Scholastic team. The roster has a limit of up to 50% second year 12U allowed.
Jerseys
All of our Mohawks players are required to have one home and one away jersey and matching socks. Players are also required to purchase shells that go over their hockey pants that have the Mohawks logo on them. All items can be purchased from our uniform vendor K&B Outfitters.
WV Hockey League
Our Middle School and Varsity teams also participate in the WV Hockey League along with other school teams from West Virginia. Teams meet over several weekends and play each other to determine seeding for the state tournament in February. The winner of the State Championship earns the bid to represent West Virginia for the USA Hockey High School National Tournament in late March.
