Board Members
Hillarey works in Finance Global Integrated Services at Viatris Pharmaceuticals. Originally from Jamestown, NY, she is a West Virginia University Graduate in Accounting and is a retired Chief Master Sergeant with the 130 th Logistics Readiness Squadron, West Virginia Air National Guard with over 25 years of service and now calls Morgantown her home.
She and her husband, Kory, have two children. Owen, 16, has played hockey since he was 5 years old, beginning with Little Pens. Tessa, 13, has played hockey since she was 8 years old, beginning in the Little Pens program as well. Both have played for multiple MHA programs and teams and currently play both travel Blades and Mohawks.
Hillarey has served on the board for 10 years at various director levels and Cash Bash Chair.
Mitchell is a native of Greene County, Pennsylvania but resides in Morgantown, West Virginia with his wife and their three sons, Garrett, Cooper and Brett. Mitchell is a USA Hockey Certified Level 4 Hockey Coach and has served in the Morgantown Hockey Association in some capacity for the past 8 years. He is passionate about seeing the program grow and our players develop. He has worked with players in the Learn the Play and Little Penguins Program as well as the Development Program often on the ice for Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3. He has most recently served as Head Coach for the Mite White Team and Assistant Coach for the Bantam 1 Team.
Mitchell’s oldest son, Garrett, will be a Midget this season, Cooper will be a first year Squirt and Brett will be turning 4 and is looking forward to taking the ice this year. Needless to say if you need to find him, just look for him at the rink.
Zacc is a native of Martinsburg, WV but has called Morgantown home for almost twenty years. Zacc has worked for the US Army and West Virginia Army National Guard for over twenty-five years serving in numerous organizational leadership roles.
Zacc and his wife, Jeanette, have two children. Ethan, 11, is a basketball and soccer player. Branden, 14, started on the ice at 3 years old participating in most developmental levels in MHA. Zacc has served as a helper on the ice for the last six seasons and team manager for the MS Mohawks last season. This is his first year as a MHA board member.
Allison is a physician at Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital. She completed her Bachelor in Science and Medical Doctor from the University of Toledo. She moved to Morgantown to complete her training in internal medicine, pulmonology and critical care medicine.
She and her husband Mark have 3 children. Their oldest started playing hockey at age 4 and will play in his final season as a Mite in 2023-2024. Allison has served for the past year as Secretary of MHA and the team manager for the Mites.
Beth is a West Virginian by choice with more than 20 years’ experience in the news and communications industry. She currently works as the communications director for Forge, a Morgantown-based consulting firm specializing in government and community relations, strategy development, business development and organizational growth.
A native of Kent, Ohio, Beth worked for newspapers in Ohio and Wisconsin before moving to Huntington in 1999 to work for The Herald-Dispatch as its special projects and investigative reporter. In 2002, she moved to Charleston to become the senior staff writer for The State Journal, a statewide business and government newspaper. She worked for The State Journal for 10 years as a reporter, managing editor, and editor. From 2013-15, Beth worked as the Director of Communications for the West Virginia Attorney General’s Office.
Chris serves as the interim director of the Mountainlair Student Union at West Virginia University. In his role, Chris oversees the overall operations and services in the student union and works directly with other departments within the facility. Chris received his Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science from John Carroll University where he played ACHA Division I Club Hockey and MCLA Division 1 Club Lacrosse He received his Master of Science in Exercise Physiology from the University of Akron. Prior to his work in student unions, Chris spent 15 years working in collegiate recreation in club sports, intramural sports and athletic training. He started his career at Florida State University, where he worked for 9 years before coming to WVU.
