Barnum Award
The Barnum Award was started in 2006 to recognize two officials who by their dedication and devotion to the game of hockey, represent our family of officials, and make this the great game we all enjoy. This award is more than just skating skills, judgment and rules knowledge. It's a demeanor and attitude displayed on the ice that shows respect for the game and all participants of the game. It shows a focus and professionalism that coaches, players and fans notice, and feel comfortable that this person is working the game. There is a plaque in the lobby at the rink with names of previous winners all of whom exemplify the spirit and reason why we do what we do.
